Oh my youthful days
You welcomed me with so much expectations
You questioned me with so much pride
But forgot I'm caught in web of custom.
Oh my youthful days
You caressed me with eyes of world
You
You darkened my brain with my worst days
Yet you blamed me for my sleepless nights.
Oh my youthful days
You withheld those faithful answers I seek
You left me on the brittle glass of waiting
And I wonder if I’ll get lost in fog of hope.
Oh my youthful days
You bleed your memories on holy days
You flash your light at edge of my page
Only for me to say “I am my storyteller”
Oh my youthful days
How you watered my days with tears
How you defeat my fears with purpose
How you shackle my pains with stings of life.
Oh my youthful days
When my wrinkles of hands bless me?
When will my darling hair grow grey?
When will I feed my sleep with death?

The second question is interpreted to be “will she be in a good state of health and mind and alive healthy to eat the fruits of her labor? Especially after seeing how youth die so easily and fast than the aged people. The last one is simply a question about death like someone who is already tired of life but refuse to give up. This encourage every youths that are in diaspora to continue to live and strive and never give up on life and in life.
