Take a deep breath,
Oh young warrior!
You are the knight in the chess of life.
You are the hearts in the cards of Solitaire.
So Inhale everything that forms you.
Didn't they say that life is a game.
Didn't they lie that we’re born free.
Sink deep into well of wisdom.
And Jump off the cliff of dilemma.
When you are weary of riding your course,
hit the break to take a break.
And drink a doze of rest at sunset.
What comes next will surely be.
Unveil every chapter of you with clarity.
When you stand on thread of decision.
Don't write yourself off from the pages,
For every mistake you made shall smile.
And every dream you dream shall cry.
Wait till you wheel your will,
For all you need is your name.
Review of the poem written by Okoro Amarachi Anastasia.
Pen Name: I. C Amar.
This is a poem of one stanza twenty lines written by poet, Okoro Amarach Anastasia. It is a poem that gives advise to youths while taking the decision of life. It encourages that choices made in life should be made with a clear mind and not be influenced by external factors. It enjoins everyone not to leave themselves behind or be lost in the mud of misconceptions. They should take decisions based on conviction. There is need to see the need to take a break when necessary because it offers an opportunity to reflect on all going on around you. It makes you see where you and who you are becoming.
Another point made by the poet is the last line which reads “all you need is your name” which portrays that all one needs is themselves to achieve whatever it is they have made which means they don't need people to validate them because who we want to be is not determined by people but by us, by you. Although you need people's opinion You don't need people's validation but yours and that is all you will ever need to be all you will ever be.
For the youths to birth out the successful version of themselves they need to agree/ believe with themselves. Such self confidence add a spark to our lives. Youth should learn that drive the whole the storyline of their lives. They decide how it's going to end or what will be the outcome of the story.
